Chiou See Anderson
Head of the W20 Australian Delegation
The Women 20 (W20) is the official G20 engagement group dedicated to advancing gender equity. It unites delegates from G20 member states, representing civil society, business, communities, and academia, all of whom are deeply committed to gender equality. Over a six-month period, these delegates work in groups to shape the W20 Communique and influence the G20 Leaders' Declaration.
This year, under Brazil’s Presidency, we are advocating for the G20 Leaders to:
-
Establish a G20 Care Economy and Support Plan to address unpaid and informal care work, ensuring women’s contributions are recognised and supported.
-
Ensure a gender-responsive approach in climate change policies to protect and empower women in the face of global environmental challenges.
-
Reduce the digital gender gap by 50% by 2030, creating more equitable opportunities for women.
-
Enhance women’s access to markets through Gender-Responsive Public and Private Procurement, promoting economic inclusion both domestically and internationally.

As the Head of the Australian W20 delegation, I’m proud to lead efforts that will shape a more equitable future. Our advocacy has the potential to deliver real-world benefits to women globally. Join us this November to learn more about how these efforts will create lasting change.
